Thailand Islands

Baja Expeditions offers various sea kayaking trips including the Coastal Sea Kayaking from Loreto to La Paz, Islands Sea Kayaking (our favorite). This trip explores the desert islands that populate the Sea of Cortez.

Channel Islands Kayaking offers a full range of ocean kayaking activities. We took their full day trip to Santa Cruz and it was great! We paddled along the coastline of Santa Cruz and explored spectacular sea caves, beautiful covers and secluded beaches.

La Jolla Kayak Fishing offers various trips. The most popular trip is the one-day offshore-guided fishing trip. It is an instructional guide service, which teaches you what you need to know to be successful and safe while kayak fishing. .

Our favorite local paddle is to the La Jolla SeaCaves. Due to a change in the permit laws, we no longer offer trips but do offer boat rentals. During the tour of the La Jolla marine reserve, you may see seals, leopard sharks, girabaldi, sting rays and brown pelicans. If the surge permits, you can also explore into the seacaves.

MT and K Tourism
offers nature based tours with local Myanmar guides to several exciting destinations in Myanmar (formerly Burma). We went on their Sea Kayaking/Snorkeling Safari in the newly opened Mergui Archipeligo in December 2007. It was amazing! The islands are inhabited by the Moken (Sea Gypsies) and offered pristine snorkeling and exploration. FIrst time we ever saw sea snakes!

Desconso Beach Ocean Sports

offers a Catalina Island Kayak Adventure Weekends. Explore Catalina Islands untouched shoreline! Trip includes roundtrip transportation from San Pedro to Catalina, all equipment and camp fees, good, guide, and Avalon Admissions tax. We've done the weekend trip several times and highly recommend it.

Kayak Kauai offers an all day adventure that explores the entire Napali coast. On this 17 miles guided paddle you will explore sea caves and waterfalls in the company of spinner dolphins and sea turtles. We did this trip in May 2005 and rated it the most beautiful place to paddle in the world!

Spiritual Journeys in the Kingdom of Bhutan - In June 2008 Maria (and two friends) visited Bhutan with a wonderful tour guide (Kelzang) who took us on various day hikes in the Himalaya's and helped us experience the magic of this hidden kingdom. Bhutan is a place that is steeped in Buddhist traditions, where tobacco and MTV are banned and prosperity is measured in the country's gross national happiness!
